Experience
At the University of Texas-Austin, I received my B.S. in Biology with an emphasis on Neurobiology. While enrolled, I worked both in the Undergraduate Writing Center as a writing consultant, and in the Neuroscience Department conducting research. I also acted as a peer academic coordinator where I organized study groups and coursework reviews for Biology, Microbiology, Ecology, and Organic Chemistry. I place immense value on my work in the writing center, where I got much out of aiding students of various academic departments to develop their writing craft for their courses and professional pursuits. I developed my teaching skills early by helping my brother, who had difficulties with his studies due to a learning disability. This experience, along with my teaching work as an adult, has taught me how important it is for educators to remain patient. It has also helped me to develop a teaching practice that empathizes with many different learning styles. I always work to promote self-confidence in my students, so that they may reach their fullest potential in their studies. I would love to work with students to succeed in their academic pursuits, whether in mathematics, the sciences, or English/writing. Some of my hobbies include, yoga, soccer, and searching for the perfect cupcake.
